Privacy Policy

Spark is built on trust. You share your most personal relationship memories with us — and we take that seriously. We collect only what's needed to power your experience. We never sell your data. We never share your relationship details with advertisers. Your memories, your contacts, your conversations — they belong to you.

When you use Spark, we collect the information you provide directly:

• Account information — your name and email address when you sign up
• Relationship data — the notes, interactions, moments, and reflections you log about the people in your life
• Usage data— how you interact with Spark's features (which tools you use, how often)
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never store your card details

We do not collect your contacts' personal information beyond what you choose to write.

Your data is used exclusively to power your Spark experience:

• To generate personalized conversation sparks, relationship insights, and weekly digests using AI
• To detect patterns, drift signals, and connection strength based on your logged interactions
• To send you nudges and reminders (only if you have Spark+)
• To process your subscription payments through Stripe

Spark uses AI to generate insights, sparks, nudges, digests, and reflections from your relationship notes. Here's what that means for your privacy:

• Your notes are sent to Anthropic (Claude) for language generation and OpenAI for text embeddings
• These requests are made under data processing agreements that prohibit using your data for model training
• AI-generated content is based solely on what you've logged in Spark — we do not pull data from external sources
• You can delete any AI-generated content at any time

Your relationship memories deserve strong protection:

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Data is stored in Supabase with row-level security — only you can access your own data
• Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth using industry-standard protocols
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant
• Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel only
• We never sell your data to third parties — ever

Spark uses these trusted services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Anthropic — AI language model (Claude)
• OpenAI — text embeddings
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email (Daily Spark, billing notifications)
• Vercel — website hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We choose partners who meet high standards for data protection. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

You are in control of your data:

• You can delete individual contacts, interactions, and moments at any time from within the app
• You can delete your account instantly from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
• If you cancel your Spark+ subscription, your data remains accessible on the free tier — it is not deleted
• We retain only anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data and account
• Export — request a data export by emailing hello@sparkcircle.app
• Opt out of certain data processing

Spark uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that follow you across the web.

Spark is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of Spark after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
